SharkDent says it doesn’t have contracts with Czech public health insurers, so you pay for all treatment yourself. A European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is not accepted at clinics without a public insurance contract. If you have private or travel insurance, ask for an itemised invoice so that you can claim the cost.

The practice states it has no contracts with public insurers such as VZP or VoZP; it works with the private insurers Uniqa and Eurocross.

  • Is the clinic taking new patients, and how long is the wait for a first appointment?
  • Can a dentist or receptionist speak English (or your language), or should you bring someone to translate?
  • Can you get a written treatment plan with the total cost before starting? Published prices are usually “from” prices.
